Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic 62 64 61 in just 88 minutes. It was so one-sided that doubles world No. 9 Zimonjic — the 39-year-old playing in his 50th Davis Cup tie — was reduced to throwing in an underarm serve towards the end of the match. Dusan Lajovic claimed some consolation for Serbia by beating Diego Schwartzman in the first of the final day's dead rubbers, before Berlocq made the final score 4-1 as opponent Krajinovic retired through illness. It means a tenth semifinal for Argentina since it returned to the World Group in 2002. But if Daniel Orsanic, in his first season as Argentine captain, is to lead his country to a first-ever Davis Cup triumph, a tricky away tie will have to be negotiated first against Belgium, who had no issue in seeing off an understrength Canada side — missing both Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil — 5-0 in Middelkerke. It was the perfect way for David Goffin to cap a remarkable turnaround, rising from No. 106 to No. 14 in the world rankings in 12 months and returning to Belgium for the tie with the honour of being the nation's highest-ranked man in history. After Steve Darcis had given Belgium the lead with a 36 61 75 63 victory against Frank Dancevic, Goffin took to the court to the acclaim of the local support and saw off 21-year-old Filip Peliwo — the world No. 491 playing his first- ever Davis Cup match — 64 64 62. How fitting it was that local resident Kimmer Coppejans and Ruben Bemelmans clinched victory for Belgium the next day with a 75 36 64 63 win against Daniel Nestor and Adil Shamasdin. Coppejans served out the match to love to get the party started on the North Sea coast, with the celebrations continuing into Sunday as Belgium won both dead rubbers to seal the whitewash. Australia had only ever come back once from 2-0 down in Davis Cup, against USA in the 1939 final. www.itftennis.com Mikhail Kukushkin helped Kazakhstan go 2-0 up David Goffin was part of Belgium's whitewash Aussie fans in Darwin Sam Groth celebrates his crucial victory over Kukushkin
