1 2014 ITF BEACH TENNIS WORLD TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Moscow, RUSSIA Fact Sheet INTRODUCTION The Team Championship is a mixed competition in which nations compete against each other on a knock-out basis. Each tie consists of a men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles rubber. The Team Championship has joined the individual ITF Beach Tennis World Championships as the flagship events on the ITF Beach Tennis Tour. Each team must consist of a minimum of two male players and two female players. Each nation has the right to include a non-playing captain in their team or to nominate a playing member of their team as captain. Players will receive ITF Beach Tennis Ranking points for the event which forms part of the ITF Beach Tennis Tour. FORMAT The 2013 event was played in a knock-out format with a reverse draw to provide a finishing position for each nation. The competition format for 2014 is currently under review and will be confirmed in due course. Ties will consist of one Men's Doubles, one Women's Doubles and one Mixed Doubles match. DATES The 2014 ITF Beach Tennis World Team Championship will take place in week 29 of the Beach Tennis Tour calendar. Competition will begin on Thursday 17 th July and the final will take place on Sunday 20 st July 2014. Teams must arrive on Wednesday 16 th July and depart on Monday 21 st July 2014. The Draw will be made on Wednesday 16 th July 2013. The ITF is the entry authority for the event. The National Association of each nation is responsible for the entry and nomination of the team. The entry form must be completed by the National Association and submitted to the ITF (sent to: beach@itftennis.com, Fax +44 020 8392 4748) by no later than 12:00 GMT on Monday 2 nd June 2014.
