ITFWORLD SPRING 2014 15 www.itftennis.com Show your COLOURS Over 1.6 million fans have engaged with the ITF's new 'Show Your Colours' campaign during the first two weeks of the 2014 Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. S how Your Colours', a new fan-focussed campaign to promote Davis Cup and Fed Cup as the world cups of tennis, was launched in January and has already been used by over 53 nations globally to promote their first and second round ties. Building on the unique team nature of both competitions, Show Your Colours uses a mix of online, social media and traditional advertising to promote Davis Cup and Fed Cup, with an emphasis on the competitions' qualities of fan involvement, patriotism, colour and passion. Fans from around the world have embraced the campaign at events and online, with thousands sharing messages of support and images of themselves supporting their national teams and flying their country's colours. Already after just two rounds of competition, more than 10,000 photos and comments have been shared online at the newly created Show Your Colours social media hubs on the competition websites, and over 27,000 users have participated in nation versus nation hashtag battles. As well as the promotional and online campaign, Show Your Colours has also seen a complete redesign of all Davis Cup and Fed Cup materials including websites, social media pages, advertising and TV graphics. Nations and players have also got involved with the campaign through a host of initiatives at ties around the world. These have included big screens featuring live twitter and photo feeds, printed fan messages for players in their locker rooms, fan of the day competitions and Show Your Colours face paint areas. The ITF has also launched a fan competition for each round with the best Show Your Colours photos winning tickets to the following round. This will culminate in a vote to find the most passionate Davis Cup and Fed Cup supporter with the winners enjoying a VIP trip to the 2014 Finals. The launch of Show Your Colours follows an 18-month review of Davis Cup and Fed Cup that included consultation with over 150 current and former players, National Associations, broadcasters, sponsors and thousands of fans around the world.
