L ooking Ah DAVIS CUP BY BNP PARIBAS WORLD GROUP QUARTERFINALS Worldwide, 5-7 April ead 2013 With semifinal places at stake, Argentina hosts France, USA hosts Serbia, Canada is at home to Italy, and defending champions Czech Republic travel to Kazakhstan. The semis take place on 13-15 September. Davis Cup by bnp paribas World Group Play-offs draw ITF, London, 10 April calendar The eight losing nations from the first round of the Davis Cup World Group go into the draw with the winners of the Group I events. The resulting play-off ties are scheduled for 13-15 September. Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Semifinals and Play-offs Worldwide, 20-21 April The finalists for Fed Cup in its fiftieth year will be decided this weekend. Twice-defending champion Czech Republic will travel to face three-time winners Italy in a blockbusting clash in Palermo, while Russia has home advantage against Slovak Republic in Moscow. Play-offs for entry into the 2014 World Group and World Group II are also being held. Roland Garros Paris, France, 26 May-9 June Can Rafael Nadal complete a successful return from his long injury lay-off in time to secure a record-extending eighth title on the terre battue, or will another man steal his crown? Maria Sharapova could have her work cut out defending her title against, among others, Australian Open champ Victoria Azarenka and Li Na, the 2011 French Open winner. ITF World Champions Dinner Paris, France, 4 June The 2012 ITF World Champions take their place in the spotlight for the ITF���s awards ceremony, held as is tradition on the second Tuesday of Roland Garros. The All England Club will also be honoured with the Chatrier Award ��� see feature on pages 16-21. Wimbledon London, Great Britain, 24 June-7 July Serena Williams remains the woman to beat on grass after her dual Wimbledon successes at The Championships and the Olympics last year. Fans will be keen to see who rises to her challenge, but the greater focus will be on Andy Murray, who won at the All England Club en route to his Olympic title but doesn���t own the Wimbledon title. Can the Brit go one better than his final appearance last year? ITF Annual General Meeting Paris, France, 9-12 July The ITF returns to its birthplace for a special gathering of its member nations in its Centenary year. BNP Paribas World Team Cup Antalya, Turkey, 20-26 May The Davis Cup and Fed Cup of wheelchair tennis moves to Antalya, Turkey, where the clay courts of Club Ali Bey Manavgat will host the ITF���s prestigious wheelchair team event. Teams from more than 50 countries fought through regional qualifying to be part of the six-day finale. France will attempt to defend its men���s title, while the mighty Dutch will be the team to beat in the women���s event. The reigning quad champions are Israel, and the junior title holders are Netherlands. 32 ITFWORLD SPRING 2013 Draw for the 2014 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Paris, France, 10 July The draw for next year���s Fed Cup competition will take place during the ITF���s AGM, in the head office of BNP Paribas.
