52 SPORT SCIENCE AND MEDICINE The second edi on of the Mental Health in Tennis Summit was held in Mallorca, Spain in October and brought together 40 delegates to discuss mental health in tennis related to Grand Slam best prac ces, mental health screening and inappropriate online contact. The annual summit, co-organised by the ITF, is a joint ini a ve of the T7 group. As a result of the first summit in 2022, an updated version of the ITF Guide to Recommended Health Care Standards for Tennis Tournaments was published in 2023. It included new recommenda ons that organisers of tournaments should have a plan for mental health emergencies, provide access to a licensed mental health prac oner and set aside dedicated private space for players. Related to this, the ITF's Sport Science and Medicine Commission produced guidance for tournament medical staff on the treatment of mental health symptoms during medical me-outs in matches, and an explainer document for players and officials. TECHNICAL We con nued our ball, equipment and court cer fica on programmes in 2023 at the ITF's Technical Centre, based at our head office in London.
