During 2023 we con nued to develop and implement best prac ce in safeguarding. We introduced mandatory safeguarding educa on for all players on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, to raise their awareness of their rights to be protected under the UN Conven on on the Rights of a Child (UNCRC), and empower them to report incidents of harassment or abuse to the ITF. Over 21,000 players have completed this online course via the ITF Academy. The course is also available to anyone aged under 18 who takes part in ITF events, projects and programmes such as the Junior Tennis Ini a ve and the Grand Slam Player Development Programme. Safeguarding is also a key educa on topic which is covered in live sessions with players compe ng in junior Grand Slam tournaments and the ITF's interna onal junior team compe ons. In 2023, the ITF appointed a dedicated Player Care and Performance Lifestyle Officer to develop a life skills and services programme to support players on ITF tours. These resources will be made available to players, coaches and parents through the ITF Academy online pla orm. Interna onally, we are suppor ng our member na ons and affiliated Regional Associa ons to develop their local safeguarding capacity, and to ensure tennis at all levels is played in safe and inclusive environments and therefore accessible to everyone.
