2023 ITF Annual Review 53 and those that meet the required standards receive an 'ITF Approved' mark of quality. The same process is in place for player analysis technology (PAT), and all new ball and PAT products intended for tournaments must be approved by the ITF to ensure they meet the specifica ons set out in the Rules of Tennis. The ITF also operates a court pace classifica on programme, and a court recogni on programme for which evalua on leads to ITF Recogni on. In 2023, the ITF's tes ng and cer fica on programmes raised revenue of more than $1 million to be reinvested into tennis. Improving the sustainability of tennis was a key focus for the Technical team in 2023. The Sustainable Equipment Working Group, set up by the ITF in partnership with tennis manufacturers and member na ons, is addressing the environmental impact of tennis equipment. The group shared research into extending the life me of balls by repressurising them. The next phase of this project will inves gate changes in ball cloth and the feasibility of repressurising balls on a large scale.
