2023 ITF Annual Review 33 Thirty-nine of our member Na onal Associa ons received grants to promote grassroots ac vi es in their countries, with 12 of these receiving specific funding for junior ac vi es. We also awarded 35 grants to wheelchair players to support their travel to tournaments, and 26 grants to tournaments on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour to help stage their events. All funding was awarded according to the ITF's wheelchair tennis development eligibility criteria, which targets recipients in na ons with limited resources and taking into account regional distribu on. Refining the player pathway We are developing our elite compe on and regional pathway structures in 2024 in collabora on with our partners and stakeholders. The ITF's goal is to make it easier for talented wheelchair players to progress along the pathway, by providing ered compe on that links na onal and interna onal tournaments via appropriate regional compe on. In support of our wheelchair tennis tour players, in 2024 we're enhancing digital services in the areas of tournament entry, educa on and communica on to be er support their par cipa on and progress on the player pathway.
