Olympic and Paralympic Games Athlete eligibility includes the requirement for players to be nominated in the ITF's interna onal team compe ons – Billie Jean King Cup, Davis Cup and World Team Cup – twice during the four-year Olympic/ Paralympic cycle, with one nomina on occurring in 2023 or 2024. In 2022, we appointed the key roles of tennis compe on manager and assistant manager for Paris 2024, with the appointment of the officia ng team to follow in 2023. The 2023 Pan American Games, Asian Games and African Games will see the men's and women's tennis champions of these regional mul - Eleva ng the posi on of tennis within the Olympics and Paralympics is a key strategic priority of ITF2024. We manage the tennis and wheelchair tennis events at the Games and ensure that they are a unique compe ve experience for players every four years, and a showcase for tennis at a mul -sport event. The ITF reinvests the income we receive from the Olympic Games back into the development of the sport. As well as providing vital revenue, through their global reach the Games support the growth of tennis by providing inspira on and role models for professionals and recrea onal players alike. Ge ng ready for Paris 2024 Paris 2024 will be the first post- pandemic Olympic and Paralympic Games and 2022 was a year of planning. The tennis and wheelchair tennis compe ons will be played on the clay courts of Roland Garros, marking the second me a Grand Slam venue has hosted the Olympics in the modern era (following Wimbledon for London 2012), and the first me a Grand Slam venue has hosted both Olympic and Paralympic tennis. Olympic tennis was last played on clay at Barcelona 1992. We carried out site visits in June and October, working with the Paris 2024 Organising Commi ee on the delivery of both events, which will use the full Roland Garros site in the heart of the French capital. The ITF published the qualifica on systems for the Olympics, giving players and na ons me to prepare. As previously, there will be spots for 64 players in the men's and women's singles draws. Na ons can now only enter one team in the mixed doubles event, giving more countries the chance to compete. sport events become the first players eligible for Paris 2024, subject to addi onal Olympic entry criteria. This will be mirrored for the Paralympics with wheelchair tennis events taking place at the Parapan American Games, Asian Para Games, African Para Games, and European Para Championships. Beyond Paris 2024, tennis has been confirmed on the Olympic and Paralympic programme for Los Angeles 2028. This will see Olympic tennis return to the city that hosted the 1984 Olympic tennis demonstra on event, which led to its reinstatement as a full medal sport at Seoul 1988. 2022 ITF Annual Review 44 MAJOR EVENTS
