2022 ITF Annual Review 24
DEVELOPMENT
Facilities
Since 2017, the ITF has awarded
grants to na ons to build new
na onal training centres, extend
exis ng centres and maintain
facili es.
In 2022, as a result of our funding,
Guam and Luxembourg completed
facility upgrade projects, overcoming
pandemic challenges and subsequent
supply chain issues. We awarded a
grant for Bhutan to re-establish its
facili es following a fire.
Acknowledging high-quality training
centres and suppor ng na ons to
develop the best facili es is a priority
for the ITF, as they play a vital role in
nurturing talented individuals at the
very start of the player pathway.
We redesigned our Na onal Training
Centre Recogni on Programme in
2022. As well as offering gold, silver
and bronze recogni on levels, we
added a white award as an entry-
level mark of quality. This ensures the
programme can be widely adopted
globally and offers a route for na ons
to raise their na onal training centres
to the next level. Six na ons have so
far received recogni on at any level.
Suppor ng na ons
to develop the best
facili es is a priority
for the ITF.
