2022 ITF Annual Review 57 COMMERCIAL Davis Cup In 2022, 1.9 million viewers watched the Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II es from almost 500 hours of coverage from 67 broadcasters in 38 markets. The largest propor on of viewership was in Africa and Europe, and free-to-air programming accounted for most of the coverage. For the 2022 Davis Cup Finals, the separa on of the elite level of the men's World Cup of Tennis into the Group Stage and Final 8 led to a significant increase in coverage. Broadcast was available from September's Group Stage loca ons and the Final 8 in Malaga in November, resul ng in a combined audience of 37.2 million. The World Group events and Davis Cup Finals were also made available for streaming via the ITF's Davis Cup live pla orm. BNP Paribas World Team Cup The ITF produced wheelchair tennis's na on-versus na on team event on site in Vilamoura, Portugal with English commentary and made it available for broadcast distribu on. The coverage was carried by broadcasters including TyC Argen na, Olympic Channel Worldwide, Sport en France and Sport TV Portugal. There were two million social media video views of the 2022 compe on, and we will invest in produc ons again in 2023 to promote further coverage of wheelchair tennis on mainstream channels. Billie Jean King Cup Juniors and Davis Cup Juniors Finals Coverage from Antalya, Turkey of the Finals of the 2022 junior team events for players aged 16-and-under saw a 23% increase in audience. We are working to further engage broadcasters with Billie Jean King Cup Juniors and Davis Cup Juniors in 2023, highligh ng their role as a springboard for the future stars of the sport. ITF Beach Tennis World Cup A record 3.1 million people watched coverage of the ITF Beach Tennis World Cup, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our strategy for 2023 aims to improve produc on standards for the five Sand Series Classic events and broadcast these top- er beach tennis tournaments with English commentary to an interna onal audience for the first me. Historic archive The ITF has invested in digi sing our moving footage archive, which holds valuable historic Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup content. High priority material has now been uploaded to a dedicated content portal and footage is available to ITF partners and Na onal Associa ons. We will reinvest the revenue from archive sales back into growing the game.
