The ITF Academy in 2021
Events
Under the development umbrella,
we want to ensure tennis talent in all
na ons is iden fied and provided with
opportuni es. As such, we organise
events and compe ons in a diverse
range of loca ons.
Junior team compe ons for players
aged 12 and under are held across five
regions – Asia, Africa, Central America/
Caribbean, South America and Pacific
Oceania. Despite Covid-19 challenges,
323 players from 54 na ons took part
across 2020 and 2021. We aim to
have even more na ons par cipa ng
in these events in 2022.
The ITF also staged regional events
in Asia, Africa, Central America/
Caribbean and South America in 2021
– many events in these regions were
postponed and cancelled in the
last two years because of Covid-19,
but are scheduled to return in 2022.
