COMMUNICATIONs T he ITF Communications department continued with its broad remit that includes the promotion of the ITF and all its activities, and the provision of services and information for international media. The focal point of 2012 was the London Olympic and Paralympic Tennis Events, and the department concentrated its efforts on the promotion of these events and the positioning of tennis within the Olympic Movement. Following on from the success of its Beijing publication, the ITF produced a 130-page book, titled Aspire Inspire: Celebrating Tennis at the Olympics 2012, which included specially commissioned photographs of the game's top names posing with pictures of themselves as a child and talking about their sporting heroes. A total of 26 athletes were featured in the book which also included good luck messages from Olympic legends. The photographs themselves appeared in newspapers, magazines and websites around the world and were one of the talking points during the countdown to the Games. 32 PRESIDENTIAL & COMMUNICATIONS At the start of the year, the ITF relaunched its Olympic Tennis Event website, alongside a new Spanish-language version of the site, with both sites featuring unique content in the run-up to and during the Games. The sites also provided a live scores console for the first time at the Olympics, while an Olympic Tennis Event mobile app was made available for fans. During the year, the ITF also launched mobile apps for Davis Cup and Fed Cup alongside the relaunch of the official ITF website ITFtennis.com. This is part of the overall strategy to redesign the whole family of websites to improve the ease of navigation and enhance the user experience. The web portfolio is the primary means of communication for the ITF, and by the end of the year the majority of individual weblets had been migrated onto a new platform. Publications remain another important aspect of Communications activity. The ITF's flagship magazine ITFWorld is now published four times a year and is available online, while in 2012 the department also produced its
