SPONSORSHIP AT THE 100TH DAVIS CUP FINAL ROLEX AND NH HOTELES BOTH ANNOUNCED THE RENEWAL of their sponsorship THROUGH 2015 T hroughout 2012 the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas competition continued to enjoy support from its title sponsor, BNP Paribas, long-term international sponsors HP, Adecco, Hugo Boss, Rolex, NH Hoteles and international partner Wilson. Bosco entered its sixth year as an international sponsor of Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. Throughout the year the ITF helped HP to coordinate the participation of players and tennis personalities in their VIP 'HP chalk talk' sessions. These on-site events are a huge success for HP as their clients have the opportunity to partake in photo and question and answer sessions with the likes of Ivan Lendl, Amelie Mauresmo, Emilio Sanchez Vicario and Jan Kodes. At the 100th Davis Cup Final Rolex and NH Hoteles both announced the renewal of their sponsorship though 2015 and Wilson, the Official Ball of Davis Cup and Fed Cup, had announced their extension through 2017 earlier in the year. The economic crisis in Europe forced Turismo Madrid to stop all their sponsorship activities but the ITF welcomed BMW as an international sponsor of the France v USA quarterfinal. Adecco increased the number of Adecco Speed Serve experiences for their clients and the number of ties with their on-court hostesses. The Davis Cup trophy was displayed by most of the sponsors at some point throughout the year, whether on-site or in their environment, for example at the Rolex store in Prague. The websites and social media platforms have also become increasingly important for ITF sponsors. A new activation tool was implemented by the ITF with the primary objective of offering additional exposure and enhanced fan engagement to all Davis Cup sponsors. The 'Serve Your Nation' campaign involves supporters or sponsor-nominated VIPs, who represent the participating countries at each tie, competing for the fastest speed of serve on centre court in front of the Davis Cup crowd. This works well on-site but also online via the national and individual leaderboard and social media messages. The Invacare Wheelchair Tennis Doubles Masters in Amsterdam and the NEC Singles Masters in Belgium followed the success of the London 2012 Paralympics and benefited from increased spectator interest on-site and online. Topspin renewed its agreement as the official ball and clothes partner for both Wheelchair Tennis Masters events and signed a new contract for the Beach Tennis World Championships and the Regional Coaches Development Programme. 16 COMMERCIAL
