when he visited Kenya and Rwanda in April.
Haggerty officially opened the ITF/CAT/TK East Africa
Training Centre in Nairobi, Kenya and spoke to many
of the 16 players who train and study there. He shared
some words of encouragement with the girls and boys,
aged between 13 and 17, and said that he hoped to see
them at the highest levels of the game. Seven of the
players training at the centre are beneficiaries of Olympic
Solidarity scholarships.

It has been a busy 12 months for the Tennis
Development Programme with the ITF introducing
a range of new activities and initiatives as part of
its 2017-20 development strategy. Involving all
four priorities – events, facilities, coaching and
programmes – this important work was highlighted
by ITF President David Haggerty's recent visit to
