qualifying, grant recipient Christian Garin, a former Roland Garros junior champion, said, "I play more relaxed — every tournament that I go to I try to do my best, but sometimes you think of money, because it's expensive to travel, to do the things well it's difficult." The 21-year-old went on to qualify for his first Grand Slam event, losing in the first round at the All England Club to Jack Sock. Already a seasoned Davis Cup player for Chile, Garin's goal is to play more matches in pursuit of ranking points. "I'm playing well but I need to win more matches in Challengers. I want to do well in the coming tournaments, I want to be Top 150, that's my goal for this year, but I think I can do better." Ons Jabeur had already shown her potential when she won the Roland Garros junior title in 2011, becoming the first North African to win a major title in any category. But the Tunisian 22-year-old had been unsuccessful in 10 out of 12 qualifying attempts for Grand Slam events until Roland Garros this year, where, after entering the main draw as a lucky loser, she reached the third round, defeating world No. 7 Dominika Cibulkova in the process. She credits the support from the Grand Slams with making this possible. "It's unbelievably good for me, I'm playing better since I got this amount. It's pretty helpful, I don't have to think about any expense any more, I just go on the court and play my game and have fun. I'm getting more in my team, like a physio, trying to get a fitness coach. It's really supportive." "It started at the beginning of the year and you can see that my results are very much better. I'm playing really nice and calm, not stressed about anything." Jabeur also qualified for Wimbledon, losing in the first round to Svetlana Kuznetsova, and broke into the Top 100 at the end of July.
