Kunieda extended his winning streak to 77 singles matches on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and took his tally of singles titles at the majors to 20. His quest to fi nish the year unbeaten came undone at the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters in London, where he was twice beaten by Belgium's Joachim Gerard, who stunned the sport to lift his fi rst NEC Masters men's trophy. Griffi oen completed her memorable season with her second NEC Masters title, while USA's David Wagner won his eighth Masters quad trophy. Australia's Dylan Alcott was another player to secure his fi rst major title in 2015 after he emerged victorious at the Australian Open and the US Open. As a result, he became the year-end No.1 quad singles player for the fi rst time. In the women's game on the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Circuit, 2015 was defi nitely Jiske Griffi oen's year. After 13 Grand Slam doubles titles the Dutch 30-year-old's wait for a singles crown at a major came to an end at the Australian Open. Griffi oen went on to win her second major at Roland Garros and subsequently became world No.1 for the fi rst time, some 10 years after fi rst holding the world No. 2 spot.
