REVIEW OF THE YEAR I 5 The second, led by Kris Dent, is Professional and Circuits that includes Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, the Olympics and Offi ciating and all of the ITF Circuits. We believe that this merging of activity will not only lead to effi ciencies and better collaboration with our member nations but a better pathway for players from juniors all the way through to seniors. Not every player will have a career in tennis but how we treat them at every level of the game will determine their commitment to tennis, from recreational players to top professionals. As I look ahead, our agenda for the future, called ITF 2024, includes eight key priorities that will increase the infl uence and importance of the ITF for the future. We have already begun work on three of them – improving our integrity and governance platforms, reviewing our Development initiatives and assessing new formats for Davis Cup and Fed Cup that we believe will enhance these important competitions. We look forward to 2016 and to the future of the ITF. (Continued from previous page) In September, at our Annual General Meeting in Santiago, Chile, I was proud to be elected President of the ITF succeeding Francesco Ricci Bitti who had held that offi ce for 16 years. It was a close election and underlined the need for the ITF to be more inclusive and create a better dialogue with our nations. One of my priorities was to take a look at how the ITF was structured and make sure that the needs of our nations were met in as effective a manner as possible. It became apparent that the best way forward was to change that structure and, in December, we announced the creation of two new departments. The fi rst is our Integrity Department, led by Stuart Miller, which will manage Anti-Doping, Anti-Corruption, Rules of Tennis, Development, Governance and Science & Technical. In this time when the integrity of international federations is under scrutiny, the ITF wants to be a leader with world class governance in every aspect of our business. Our Development activities are a key element of this new department and, with the growth and promotion of the game as our mission, it is important that we review how we do things to ensure that what we do provides signifi cant benefi t for tennis worldwide.
