t wasn't easy in Sydney. The final was a
little easier but we had to work to get to
the finals.
I didn't qualify for singles because there were
about 100 US girls in the Top 10 because
Monica [Seles] was still playing, Lindsay
[Davenport] was still in, Venus was in. I was
quite happy because I didn't really want to
play anyway. I just wanted to play doubles.
I could have fun, go see events, kind of have
my Olympic experience. I was like No. 8 in
the world and I didn't qualify. It was a stiff
competition back then.
