ITFWORLD SPRING 2016 5 www.itftennis.com " From a junior's first competitive tennis steps through to the Olympic and Paralympic pinnacles, the ITF and partner nations are there to play a vital and unique role. We not only help to create the next generation of champions but we also ensure that they have the opportunities to play professionally for themselves on the ITF Circuits and for their nations in Davis Cup and Fed Cup. The ITF's new professional tennis structure brings together, in one department, the entire professional pathway from Juniors through Pro Circuits to Seniors ensuring we can fully understand the opportunities and challenges faced by everyone involved in the sport and ensure the right strategy is in place to attract and retain the very best talent in tennis and support those hosting events at all levels of the game. This is an exciting time for the ITF. We have an ambitious vision for the future of the organisation and for our sport at all levels, not just the professional game. I am extremely fortunate to be working with a highly talented team, focused on creating, supporting and delivering world class events and Circuits throughout the world. For the first time, the ITF has created a department that covers all elements of the professional game including Olympics, Paralympics, Davis and Fed Cup, Officiating, Wheelchair tennis and all ITF Circuits. Without doubt, this is an exciting and considerable challenge for all of us in the Professional Tennis team as well as a huge opportunity. " KRIS DENT STUART MILLER In addition to providing a consistent and coherent approach to all integrity-related matters, the ITF aims to provide stakeholders with the assurances that the ITF is a credible guardian of the sport. The recent events that we've seen relating to sports governance mean that it's an exciting time to be involved in integrity, and that we have an opportunity to lead by example and create a world-leading integrity provision for tennis. Working with the ITF Development Department is equally stimulating and challenging. No two nations are the same, and so achieving our two goals of increasing participation and supporting the development of talented players requires a flexible approach to the support that the ITF provides around the world. We need as many people to play the game as possible, and we also want them to be from as many nations as possible. This is what a truly global sport should be, and working with deserving nations and players to be the best they can be is incredibly rewarding. Integrity and development are among the ITF's strategic priorities for 2024, and this year will focus on the transition to new strategies that will helpthe ITF to achieve those priorities. I'm looking forward to being a part of that process. I'm honoured to have been appointed as Senior Executive Director responsible for the newly- formed Integrity and Development Department and I'm relishing the challenge. The ITF has shown foresight and a cutting-edge approach to protecting the integrity of tennis by bringing together all of the key components of integrity into a single department. " "
