Qualifying events with fewer than nine (9) entered teams may use a knock-out or a round robin format, at the discretion of the Tournament Director, as detailed in these Rules and Regulations. If there are nine (9) or more entered teams in the qualifying event, a knockout format must be used. All draws shall be conducted in public by the official tournament Referee, with at least two players present, one of whom shall be of a different nationality to that of the host country.
