Cloro worked for many years as personal assistant to Chris Gorringe, Ian Ritchie and Richard Lewis. Hunter Delatour ITF Honorary Life Counsellor Hunter Delatour died on 18 January aged 95. Delatour served as President of the USTA from 1983-84, President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame from 1986-87 and he was on the ITF Board of Directors from 1983-87, during which time he served as ITF Vice President. Brad Drewett ATP Chief Executive Brad Drewett, 54, died on 3 May following a battle with Motor Neurone Disease. The former player reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 34 before joining the ATP as an administrator. Drewett was instrumental in securing a prize money increase at Grand Slams events. Paul Flory Paul Flory died on 31 January after a battle with Alzheimer's disease aged 90. Flory was Chairman of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, having previously served as Tournament Director in Cincinnati from 1975-1997. Hon. Tonye Harry Nigeria's Hon. Tonye Harry died from a cardiac arrest on 4 October. Harry was Vice President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation. Also a politician, he was speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2007-2011 and deputy speaker from 1999-2007. Tim Heckler Tim Heckler died from a heart attack on 4 February aged 71. The former CEO of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Heckler started his tennis teaching career in 1970, the same year he joined the USPTA, and was CEO for 30 years, retiring in December 2012. In 2008 he received the association's highest honour, the George Bacso Lifetime Achievement Award. Tommy Hindley Award-winning tennis photographer Tommy Hindley died from a brain tumour on 19 September aged 66. Hindley founded his Professional Sport photo library in 1977 and developed a client list of top advertising agencies, news outlets, the ITF and Wimbledon. Hindley was a member of the Professional Sports Photographers Association and then the Sports Journalists' Association. He also covered Olympic Games and football World Cups throughout his career. Active with the ITF for over 30 years, he served as member of the Committee of Management, member of the ITF Board of Directors, Vice President, Chairman of the Junior Competitions Committee, and was Honorary Life Vice President. Tournament Director of the Federation Cup in 1981, 1985 and 1989 and the Japan Open and Asian Open in 1977-86, he also served as Asian Tennis Federation President from 1989-2003 and Japanese Olympic Committee member from 1991-2003. He was presented with the 2005 Golden Achievement Award by the ITF and ITHF, and the Olympic Order of Merit in 2012. Gene Mako Former player Gene Mako died on 14 June aged 97. A longtime doubles partner of Don Budge, Mako was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1973. He partnered Budge to seven Grand Slam doubles finals, winning titles at Wimbledon in 1937-1938 and at the US Championships in 1936 and 1938, and won the mixed doubles title at the 1936 US Championships with Alice Marble. Mako was also an integral member of USA's Davis Cup team and helped the nation win two championships in 1937 and 1938. David Markin David Markin passed away on 30 May aged 81. Markin served as USTA President from 1989-90, was chairman of the US Open site committee in the mid-1990s, served as Chairman of the Davis Cup Committee and the Junior Tennis Council and was also an active leader and supporter at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum. He was instrumental in planning the revitalisation of the National Tennis Center, including the construction of Arthur Ashe Stadium. Harold Monger Professor Harold Monger died in Ghana on 11 January. He was President of the Liberia Tennis Association, having assumed the role in 2009. Gussie Moran Former player Gussie Moran died in Los Angeles on 16 January aged 89. Moran, famed for wearing lace-trimmed knickers at Wimbledon in 1949, reached the doubles final at Wimbledon that year and achieved a US national ranking of No. 4. Following her retirement from tennis, Moran worked as a coach, wrote a column for Tennis magazine and developed her own line of clothes. Rene Simpson Collins Former player Rene Simpson Collins died on 17 October aged 47 after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Simpson Collins recorded a career-high ranking of No. 70 in singles in April 1989 and No. 32 in doubles, in which she won three titles and reached the quarterfinals at the 1996 US Open. She represented Canada in Fed Cup in 25 ties from 1988-1998, and was Fed Cup captain from 2001-2009, leading the team into World Group II in 2007.
