The Fed Cup Heart Award The Fed Cup Heart Award aims to recognise a player who has represented her country with distinction, shown exceptional courage on court and demonstrated outstanding commitment to the team during the competition. In 2009, the International Tennis Federation and BNP Paribas presented the inaugural award at the Final to Melanie Oudin (USA), along with a commemorative bracelet and a cheque for $5,000 to donate to her chosen charity – Children's at Egleston. The USTA subsequently doubled the amount to $10,000 in recognition of Oudin's efforts.
