Zone Competition Since 1995, nations not qualifying for the World Group or World Group II have competed in zone events, organised on a regional basis. Each zone is divided into groups, with promotion and relegation between the groups on an annual basis with the leading nations in Group I advancing to the World Group II play-offs.
