We work in several areas to preserve the highest standards of fair play, integrity and safety, and we also monitor the game, equipment and new technology to help tennis evolve. Governance Following the publication of a new World Tennis Constitution at the start of 2025, we are in a three-year transition period during which our member National Associations will implement any changes needed to comply with their obligations. We are working closely with nations to support them with this, ahead of the transition period ending in December 2027. In 2026, World Tennis retained its place in the top tier of international sports federations in the sixth edition of ASOIF's summer international federations governance survey (ASOIF is the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations). World Tennis has been ranked in the top tier in all six editions of the survey. Currently, 14 sports federations make up the top tier, with 36 participating in total. This performance reflects World Tennis's commitment to, and status in, good governance. 2027 elections The next World Tennis Presidential and Board elections will take place in 2027, and electronic voting technology will once again be used following its successful roll-out for the 2023 elections. We are also supporting the Election and Eligibility Panel to ensure that the Candidacy Rules permit campaigning for the 2027 elections in a full, fair, open and transparent manner. Safeguarding The World Tennis safeguarding team aims to prevent harm and promote safe and inclusive tennis environments for all participants across World Tennis events and activities. Our safeguarding strategy consists of four pillars: leadership; regulation; education, training and monitoring; and case management. The updated World Tennis Constitution mandates that all National Associations must implement safeguarding provision for players and staff involved in their organisation and events. Ongoing engagement with all tennis stakeholders remains a key priority, offering support to build capacity to assist National and Regional Associations to meet their safeguarding obligations. World Tennis continues to strengthen relationships with the IOC Safe Sport Department to support the delivery of robust safeguarding measures at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are developing opportunities for greater alignment in partnership with safeguarding representatives from the ATP and WTA. We launched a single safeguarding policy for children and adults in January 2026, which provides a clearer regulatory framework for all participants by establishing standards of behaviour and setting out prohibited conduct. Serious cases continue to be referred out to law enforcement and protective services where required, while those that fall below a criminal threshold can be managed locally (where the competence exists) or by the World Tennis safeguarding team. Ways to strengthen systems of information sharing and reciprocation of sanctions between all tennis stakeholders are being explored, with a collective approach to information sharing arrangements and data protocols to make it easier to exchange sensitive case information. 51 l We Are World Tennis 2026 Integrity & Governance
