AND PARALYMPICS Qualification pathway World Tennis has widened the qualification pathway for LA28 to include the Pacific Games, giving aspiring players from the Pacific Oceania region the chance to compete on the Olympic stage. The Pacific Games, which take place in Tahiti in summer 2027, join the Pan-American, Asian and African Games so that the men's and women's singles winners of all four regional multisport games now qualify for a World Tennis Place at the following Olympics, subject to fulfilling certain criteria. The qualification paths for both the LA28 Olympics and Paralympics get underway this September when the Asian Games and Para Asian Games are held in Nagoya, Japan. Youth Olympic Games Tennis is an Engagement Programme sport at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games which take place in Dakar, Senegal in November. The activation aims to engage the local community and promote tennis participation in the region. Best experience World Tennis manages the Olympic Tennis Event and Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Event at the Games, working closely with both the IOC, IPC, and host city organisers over each four-year cycle to provide the best possible experience for players, fans, broadcast and media. Plans are advancing for Los Angeles 2028 and several key decisions have been made. The tennis and wheelchair tennis competitions will be played on hard court at the Carson Zone in southern Los Angeles, a mini Olympic park which will also host track cycling, hockey, rugby 7s and archery. Mixed doubles first Olympic tennis will have an extra day of competition for LA28 and will run over 10 days. Another change is that the mixed doubles event will take place over the first two days – this will provide a medal match earlier on in the programme, give more prominence to mixed doubles, and help ease the schedules of players competing in multiple events. The Olympics and Paralympics are unmatched global platforms for tennis. They provide a unique showcase for the sport and the ultimate inspiration for people to watch and play. They also provide funding for World Tennis to grow the game around the world.
