Beach tennis enjoyed unprecedented growth in 2024. This is in line with our plans to develop the game, expand its player pathway and build its fanbase so that we can take tennis to new audiences. There were 55% more compe ve playing opportuni es available on the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour in 2024 compared to 2023, with the calendar offering a record 471 tournaments, 168 more than the previous year. Addi onally, there were 26 junior tournaments, compared to 21 in 2023. Tournaments were hosted in 34 na ons, and Philippines, Iran and Vietnam were new Na onal Associa ons to invest in staging beach tennis events for the first me. $2 million prize money The ITF con nues to invest in boos ng prize money, and the purse for beach tennis reached a milestone $2 million for the first me in 2024, a 36% increase on 2023 and nearly double what was available in 2022. A total of 5,362 players competed on the tour, from 80 na ons, with women's par cipa on at 39%. Pinnacle events The individual sport of beach tennis is played in pairs, and the ITF's flagship event, carrying the highest number of ranking points, is the ITF Beach Tennis World Championships. These were held in Cesena co, Italy in 2024, and the women's trophy was li ed by Venezuela's Patricia Diaz and Brazil's Rafaella Miller, while Andre Baran of Brazil and Michele Cappelle of Italy won the men's tle. Our beach tennis interna onal team compe on is the ITF Beach Tennis World Cup, a mixed event featuring teams of two men and two women represen ng their country. The 2024 event took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was won by Italy. Inaugural Tour Finals We staged seven Sand Series tournaments for the second year in a row, with Aruba and Sao Paulo joining as new venues. Sand Series events are the highest-grade tournaments on the regular tour and a ract the top beach tennis players. Prize money, which had previously been set at $50,000 for all these events, rose to $75,000 for the Reunion and Aruba tournaments, crea ng a new Sand Series 75 category, with further prize money increases in the pipeline for 2025. We also launched the ITF Sand Series Tour Finals, with Brasilia, Brazil hos ng the year-end championship and offering $100,000 prize money.
