Nine na ons were given grants in 2024 to upgrade their facili es – Botswana, Cyprus, Djibou , Kosovo, Maldives, Malta, Montenegro, Namibia, Paraguay – while Bhutan, Botswana, Cyprus, Malaysia, Maldives and Seychelles completed projects started in previous years. Several of these facili es have been, or will be, upgraded so that they can host ITF World Tennis Tour men's, women's and junior tournaments and Davis Cup compe on. We are also suppor ng our member Na onal Associa ons to find external funding for facility projects, providing them with resources such as a funding guide to be published in 2025, and help videos hosted on the ITF Academy. Facilities Development Best prac ce globally is acknowledged through the ITF's na onal training centre recogni on programme, which offers ered recogni on at Gold, Silver, Bronze and White levels. This recogni on helps raise standards and provides a valuable formal audit of a Na onal Associa on's facili es, which can then be used to a ract external investment from government agencies, Na onal Olympic Commi ees and private sponsors. Fourteen na ons were recognised for their na onal facili es in 2024. Netherlands and Switzerland received a Gold award, and Tunisia a Bronze. White recogni on was achieved by Albania, Bhutan, Ecuador, Jordan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Rwanda, Suriname and Mauri us, which became the first African na on The ITF awards grants to na ons to build new na onal training centres, extend exis ng centres and maintain facili es. to have their na onal training centre recognised through the programme. By the end of 2024, 21 na ons had facili es recognised and with high interest in the programme from na ons, our goal is to increase this figure to 40 by the end of 2025 as we con nue to promote good facili es as a vital development tool.
