We provide educa on and cer fica on for coaches at four levels. This is delivered via face-to- face training courses, conferences, online sessions, videos and publica ons, and much of it is underpinned by the highly successful ITF Academy pla orm. ITF Academy The ITF Academy is our online global home for tennis educa on, where coaches, players, parents, sports science prac oners and anyone with an interest in tennis can access more than 250 online courses. There is also a content library featuring 1,800 items including the ITF's coaching publica ons, conference videos and scien fic research papers. It has become the essen al tennis educa on hub for both individuals and our member na ons, and user numbers rose again in 2024. By year-end, the ITF Academy had more than 462,000 users, a 31% increase (see graphic right). A record 460 blended learning programmes were delivered through the ITF Academy. These mix in-person with online sessions and consist of prac cal learning, workshops, conferences and courses. By the end of the year, 128 of our member Na onal Associa ons had signed up for ITF Academy membership plans, adop ng it Education Development Coaches are at the heart of the ITF's educa on provision, because good coaching is essen al for introducing people to tennis and improving their skill levels from recrea onal to elite play. Regional Coaches Conferences The ITF's Regional Coaches Conferences provided a focal point in 2024 for members of our interna onal coaching community, bringing them together with interna onal experts within their regions to further their knowledge of the latest developments in the field. More than 1,000 coaches a ended eight conferences, held in Mexico (for the Central America region), Trinidad & Tobago (Caribbean), South Africa (Southern Africa), Tunisia (North Africa), Argen na (South America), Cyprus (Europe), Bahrain (West Asia) and Vietnam (South and South East Asia). Recognising coach educa on We have a formal recogni on programme for the coach educa on systems of our Na onal Associa ons which provides ered interna onal standards and fosters best prac ce. Seven new na ons had their coach educa on system recognised or their level upgraded by the ITF in 2024. Overall, 81 na ons have been recognised: 19 at Gold level, 10 at Silver, 25 at Bronze and 27 at White level. Development of a Na onal Sport System We work with Olympic Solidarity on the Development of a Na onal Sport System (DNSS) programme and in 2024 we delivered DNSS projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Paraguay and Slovakia. The programme enables Na onal Olympic Commi ees of these countries to put in place a medium or long-term ac on plan to strengthen their basic tennis coaching structures and related sport systems. as a centralised learning pla orm for hos ng their own na onal coach cer fica on courses, educa on workshops and webinars. New items added in 2024 included courses suppor ng the ITF designated safeguarding lead programme, a pilot of a coaching course for compe ve beach tennis players, an on-court medical emergency signs webinar, and a course on coaching female players, which engaged more than 500 users with a 72% comple on rate. Coaching courses In 2024, we supported 75 in-person coaching courses organised by 62 Na onal Associa ons, and one virtual course for coaches in the South, South East and East Asia region. Twenty-five of these courses were funded by Olympic Solidarity (OS), a commission that provides support to all Na onal Olympic Commi ees for development programmes. OS Scholarships also funded candidates' a endance on the ITF Coaching Advanced Players (CAP) course – which aims to provide fast-track coaching opportuni es to former professional players – and the ITF Coaching High Performance Players Course (CIP), with residen al and assessment weeks held in Valencia, Spain.
