18 Development We are providing funding for Argen ne grassroots projects involving children and adults of all ages, genders, playing standards and physical abili es. These are being delivered through the JTI, a greater focus in schools, community ini a ves in marginalised areas, and through targeted reten on programmes within Buenos Aires. The AAT has a goal to increase par cipa on by one million players to 5.5 million by 2030. Developing wheelchair tennis The ITF invested $380,000 to support the grassroots growth of wheelchair tennis in 2023. For more detail see page 32. ITF Global Tennis Report We developed a new repor ng pla orm for the ITF Na onal Associa on Survey in 2023, ready for our member na ons to complete in 2024. Their responses to this wide- ranging survey on na onal tennis par cipa on trends and provision will be part of the 2024 ITF Global Tennis Report, to be published later this year. The ITF Global Tennis Report examines tennis par cipa on and performance trends within our na ons, and is the most comprehensive picture of the worldwide tennis-playing scene ever published. It is produced every four years, to coincide with the Olympics and Paralympics, and the insight it contains is used to refine ITF strategy. The last edi on, in 2021, found that 87 million people around the world play tennis, an increase of 4.5% since the previous survey.
