14 Development The ITF's goal is to get more people playing tennis, regardless of age, gender, background, playing standard or physical ability. We also want to develop talented players from all over the world. We provide opportuni es, funding, events, resources, educa on, training, facili es and equipment to make these dual aims a reality. We invested $$13.2 million in growing the game in 2023, a 10% increase on 2022. The ITF focuses our funding in six areas that cover all aspects of tennis development: par cipa on, performance, events, educa on, facili es and administra on/resources. Of the $$13.2 million we invested, $2.7 million of funding was provided by the Grand Slam tournaments via the Grand Slam Player Development Programme (GSPDP). Since the incep on of the GSPDP in 1986, over $62 million has been provided to develop tennis interna onally. Funding in 2023 was also provided by Olympic Solidarity ($257,220), the Interna onal Tennis Hall of Fame ($50,000), and an Interna onal Federa on grant from the IOC ($70,000). The Johan Cruyff Founda on provided funding for wheelchair tennis development ($75,000). INVESTING IN TENNIS DEVELOPMENT
