2023 ITF Annual Review 31 with the ATP in up to eight ATP Challenger Tour 50 and 75 tournaments the following year. These players are also eligible for two spots at M15 or M25 ITF World Tennis Tour events. Boys ranked 21-30 can access up to eight spots at M15 or M25 events. The same programme for the Top 20 girls, previously known as the Junior Exempt scheme, gives them five accelerator spots at ITF World Tennis Tour events from W15 to W100-level depending on their ranking. ITF Junior World Champions Joao Fonseca of Brazil and Alina Korneeva, who both ended 2023 at No. 1 in the rankings, headed the list of players who earned Junior Accelerator places for 2024. Team compe ons The number of na ons taking part in ITF junior team compe ons grew in 2023. In the 14-and-under ITF World Junior Tennis, 181 teams represen ng 92 na ons took part. In the 16-and-under Davis Cup Juniors and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Juniors, there were 188 teams from 98 na ons. The Finals of both events featured the best 16 boys and girls teams who advanced through regional qualifying. Kazakhstan qualified for the Finals of both Davis Cup Juniors and Billie Jean King Cup Juniors for the first me, and an Algerian girls' team reached the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors Finals for the first me. Another na on breakthrough was achieved when Saudi Arabia sent a female team to an ITF event for the first me at Asia/ Oceania Pre Qualifying for Billie Jean King Cup Juniors. Czechia dominated the team compe ons – they were ITF World Junior Tennis boys and girls champions, compe ng at home in Prostejov. Their boys team also won the Davis Cup Juniors tle, while USA were Billie Jean King Cup Juniors champions. The Finals of the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors and Davis Cup Juniors were held in Cordoba, Spain for the first me as part of the ITF's wider agreement with the region of Andalusia. The Billie Jean King Cup Juniors ran simultaneously with the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Seville, and junior players visited the event to meet the women's teams and Billie Jean King herself. Player educa on In 2023 the ITF introduced mandatory online educa on courses for all junior players. This major ini a ve provides vital educa on on important subjects including integrity, standards of behaviour, tournament informa on and safeguarding. These short courses are available online on the ITF Academy. We con nued our in-person educa on for elite players at ITF events and the junior Grand Slam tournaments, with Billie Jean King leading a pre-Wimbledon session.
