To be eligible to compete, all athletes must be in good standing with their national association and the ITF. Players must also have been nominated in the ITF's international team competitions – Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge, Davis Cup and BNP Paribas World Team Cup – twice during the four- year Olympic/Paralympic cycle, with one nomination occurring in 2023 or 2024. The Asian Games in September, Pan American Games in October, and African Games in March 2024 will see the men's and women's tennis champions of these regional multi-sport events become the first players eligible for Paris 2024, subject to the additional eligibility criteria. This will be mirrored for the Paralympics. Netherlands' Diede de Groot, Ruben Spaargaren and Niels Vink, as the winners of the European Para Championships held in Rotterdam in August, are now eligible for Paris 2024. Further wheelchair tennis champions will be crowned at the African Para Games in September, Asian Para Games in October and Parapan American Games in November.
