The ITF works closely with its six affiliated regional associations for the development of tennis around the world, including the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT). Southern Africa is one of five zones on the continent of Africa. The development region consists of all the countries south of a line made up of Angola, Zambia and Malawi, plus two of the three islands to the east of the mainland: Madagascar and Mauritius (the third, La Réunion, counts as French territory so is administered from Paris). The mainland countries are Angola, Botswana, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
