EVERYONE'S GAME byKellyFairweather,ITFChiefExecu veOfficer Everyone's game invested in development ac vi es, we also invested $19 million in providing opportuni es for people to compete at all levels around the world. The ITF's five tours – the ITF World Tennis Tour, ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, ITF World Tennis Masters Tour and ITF Beach Tennis World Tour – offer playing opportuni es from entry level to elite level. We staged 2,761 tournaments in 2022, featuring more than 61,000 players, and are working to make our events easier to access, offering local op ons and player- friendly formats. In addi on to 1,059 events on the ITF World Tennis Tour, in 2022 there were a record 791 tournaments for players aged 18-and-under on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, and we con nue to enhance this vital step of the player pathway. Masters Tennis, for non-professional players aged 30-90, had record player and tournament numbers last year – more than 30,000 people competed, and our ambi on is for it to become the leading sport in terms of tournament par cipa on for those aged 30 and At the heart of the ITF's mission to grow tennis around the world is our belief that tennis is everyone's game. Within our ITF2024 strategy, we are working to ensure tennis welcomes all kinds of people regardless of age, gender, playing standard, physical ability or geography. Few sports are as truly global as tennis and this gives us a head start in our efforts to ensure it thrives in the future. It is highly visible at the elite level, with the interna onal professional game providing a steady stream of global superstars, followed across the world on television and social media. The top er of the game – the Grand Slam tournaments, ATP and WTA tours, Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge – provide ample inspira on and role models for fans and aspiring players of all abili es, as does the foxur- yearly spectacle of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are commi ed to using this global pla orm to grow the game, both through the staging of major events and our reinvestment ac vi es. In 2022 we reinvested more than $85 million into tennis. In addi on to the $12 million we over. Beach Tennis con nued to expand, with prize money on the tour passing $1 million for the first me. Wheelchair Tennis was integrated further into the four Grand Slam events, and we are reviewing the tour's structure in 2023 to ensure a robust player pathway with greater opportuni es for talent to rise. Moving off court, the ITF is commi ed to bringing new people into tennis in every capacity. Through our digital transforma on programme, we are embracing new technology which will provide new ways for fans to experience and follow the sport. We are finding new gaming audiences by entering the esports arena. Our Advantage All gender equality programme, through its work to involve more women in every aspect of tennis, will ensure a wider range of voices and ideas in our sport. Alongside the ITF's con nued investment, greater diversity and innova on will be key to tennis enjoying sustainable growth in the years ahead. We are ready for the challenge of making sure our great game truly is for everyone. 2022 ITF Annual Review 7
