Holder of two Grand Slam singles titles and five
major doubles crowns, Smith received the ITF
Philippe Chatrier Award at the awards dinner
in recognition of more than half a century of
outstanding service to tennis, both on and off court.
Smith said, "I actually know all of the previous
recipients of the ITF Philippe Chatrier Award other
than Juan Antonio Samaranch – he is the only
person I don't really know, but all the others who
have received this award have been friends of
mine. It is a great list of people who have done
great jobs on and off the court."

Croatia's Marcinko was honoured as ITF World
Junior Champion for 2021 after finishing last
season top of the junior rankings. The other
World Champions celebrated at the awards were
Marcinko's fellow junior Juncheng Shang, Novak
Djokovic, Ashleigh Barty, Dylan Alcott, Diede de
Groot, Shingo Kunieda and doubles pairs Nikola
Mektic and Mate Pavic, and Barbora Krejcikova
and Katerina Siniakova.
