be difficult. But Goede, who has
been the ITF's Development Officer
for the Caribbean since 2013, is clear
about his mission.
"We need to support each national
association to become as independent
and self-sustaining as possible, so
that they can develop the sport in
general, make tennis bigger, create
more athletes, educate more coaches
– and grow the tennis community.
By self-sustainable, we mean for
example securing a systematic steady
income for the national associations
through services provided to their
stakeholders including events at all
levels from recreational tennis to
juniors to adult tennis. This is why the
ITF is creating digital products such
as the ITF Academy, the ITF World
Tennis Number, an ITF tournament
management system to name some.
These products along with tennis
in schools, Tennis 10s and other
participation programmes support
the ITF member nations to engage
