2021 ITF Annual Review 59 Embracing innova on Our digital transforma on involves embracing the next era of technological innova on and con nuing to incorporate data as much as possible, because it largely underpins the future of sport for all stakeholders. This will ensure we remain at the forefront of sports technology and are mee ng the expecta ons of today's fans and players by facilita ng greater knowledge, insight, engagement and enjoyment of tennis now and in the future. U lising technology and data to enhance opportuni es In 2021, we upgraded our IPIN online tournament entry system to enable players to use it to enter doubles tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour and make it easier for players, tournament supervisors and ITF staff to manage player withdrawals. We're currently developing a new digital iden ty management and single sign-on system called ITF Tennis ID. This will streamline the process so that only one login is needed to access the IPIN and ITF World Tennis Number pla orms, as well as our online ITF Academy and other ITF digital services. This will not only give players, officials and other users a one-stop shop for all tournament entry, ranking, educa onal, course and training informa on, it will also provide clearer insight into our tennis audiences and how we can improve services and offerings for them. ITF corporate and event websites have been enhanced and will con nue to undergo major changes to improve and streamline the user journey. This has included new results pages, which document results of all ITF tournaments in one place. Going forward, we want to improve our pla orms to ensure we provide a more informa ve, engaging and entertaining experience powered by data, and with the ability to watch and get involved in more ac on and highlights. Towards a digital transforma on We are also currently in the process of crea ng a new data pla orm, which will act as a central database for all ITF audiences and stakeholders and offer complete visibility of online interac ons. The pla orm will include direct marke ng and email capabili es, engagement tracking and analy cs, business intelligence and repor ng, plus customer analy cs and insights to enable us to understand our consumers and their needs be er. The pla orm will provide enhanced insights, which together with a new data warehouse and data management system, will centralise informa on across all ITF services and ac vi es and enable us to learn more about interna onal tennis audiences. These insights will inform future ITF strategic, opera onal and commercial decisions to, ul mately, create new ways for fans to consume tennis globally. The launch of the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) is a key element of our digital transforma on and consumer-focused approach, and it con nues to be embedded across the interna onal tennis landscape. Created by the ITF, the new ra ngs system is the only one of its kind backed by comprehensive, high- quality data and supported through partnerships with our family of member Na onal Associa ons worldwide. As well as being a new digital pla orm designed to engage and support tennis players at all levels to have more enjoyable and compe ve playing opportuni es, the WTN will also deliver new digital services to Na onal Associa ons, including new compe on and data management pla orms to help them drive increased par cipa on and growth in tennis na onally and globally (for more see page 22). Anyone playing an ITF tournament on the ITF Men's and Women's World Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, or at ITF Juniors, ITF Seniors or ITF Beach Tennis events needs to have a unique Interna onal Player Iden ty Number, or IPIN, to enter. There are over 85,000 players currently registered with an IPIN and using the online entry pla orm. IPIN – the International Player Identity Number TECHNOLOGY
