2021 ITF Annual Review 48 An -doping The ITF has now transferred responsibility for administering the Tennis An -Doping Programme (TADP) to the Interna onal Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), an independent body funded by the seven governing bodies of tennis – the ITF, WTA, ATP, and four Grand Slam tournaments. From January 2022, all ma ers in the sport concerning an -doping and corrup on jointly fall under the auspices of the ITIA. The move was confirmed unanimously by the Tennis Integrity Supervisory Board, made up of independent directors and representa ves from the governing bodies of tennis, and will ensure transparency and complete independence for the way the sport's an -doping and an -corrup on programmes are managed. The ITF remains signatory for the sport of tennis to the World An -Doping Code (WADA Code) and con nues to be responsible for any non-compliance with the Code. We will support the ITIA to ensure the TADP remains WADA Code-compliant and preserves its high standards of integrity and governance. Safeguarding and wellbeing The ITF is commi ed to ensuring that tennis is a safe sport. In January 2021 we introduced new policies to safeguard children and adults taking part in ITF tours, programmes and ac vi es. We con nue to strive to be a global leader in safeguarding, with policies created to protect the integrity of tennis by making the sport safer and more inclusive for all par cipants. To support the introduc on of the new ITF safeguarding policies, we launched the 'ITF Introduc on to Safeguarding Children' course on the ITF Academy online learning pla orm, for which over 3,000 people have signed up so far. The course, which is available in five languages, is mandatory for all ITF staff and a pre-requisite for various qualifica ons within the ITF Academy. The ITF con nues to work with our Na onal Associa ons and Regional Associa ons in developing effec ve safeguarding and wellbeing for all players across the world. At ITF headquarters in London, we have recruited addi onal team members in this area, and will soon employ a new full- me Player Welfare Officer. In 2022, we will hold the very first Mental Health in Tennis Summit, together with the ATP, WTA and the four Grand Slam tournaments. The inaugural event will bring together players, tournament organisers, coaches, media representa ves and experts to explore mental health in tennis, and to improve support and services for players and individuals across the game. Governance In 2021, we con nued our three- year Governance Review project, which aims to improve ITF leadership, structure and transparency across a range of areas, in line with the latest good prac ce in interna onal sports and business. As part of this, the ITF Board separated the President and CEO roles, historically held by a single person, to ensure a greater balance and separa on of powers and accountability in our leadership. In January 2022, ITF President and CEO David Haggerty therefore assumed the role of ITF President, with former ITF COO Kelly Fairweather promoted to CEO. Looking ahead as part of the Governance Review, through our Advantage All strategy (see page 52) we will push for further diversity on the ITF Board, encouraging member na ons to do the same, and provide the informa on and support required to improve their overall governance standards. INTEGRITY, WELLBEING AND FAIRNESS
