2021 ITF Annual Review 5 WELCOME • The player pathway and major events – as the main global pathway for professional players, it is essen al that we enhance the ITF World Tennis Tour and our major events, increasing their exposure and player services to ensure all athletes have the chance to improve their skills and work their way up to the top levels. From 2022, we are focusing on crea ng more chances, adding more events to the Women's World Tennis Tour in par cular. • Digital transforma on – in a world driven by technology and data, we want to be at the forefront, delivering player analy cs and bringing fans closer to the ac on in innova ve, entertaining and engaging ways that today's audiences expect. • Stakeholder engagement – given the size and spread of the sport worldwide, and the number of organisa ons involved, good stakeholder communica on is vital. A stakeholder engagement programme will ensure we align be er with Na onal and Regional Associa ons. Meanwhile our T7 group, composed of the seven key stakeholders of professional tennis - the ITF, ATP, WTA and the four Grand Slam tournaments - will see us work together to achieve long-term sustainability. • Investment back into the game – we will con nue to re-invest in tennis, maintaining our impressive percentage of income going back into the grassroots and development pathways. To enhance opportuni es across the world, we need to increase this investment. As such we need to ensure the game is commercially a rac ve and viable, not just at the highest levels of compe on but at all levels, so that we can grow our income. These areas will guide our work to deliver against our ITF2024 strategic plan, crea ng a solid founda on that will see more players and higher standards of performance across tennis, stronger and empowered Na onal and Regional Associa ons, deeper rela onships across the tennis world built on mutual respect and trust, a game that is more cherished and protected, and a progressive governing body that is able to innovate and build for the future.
