TOURS AND PLAYER PATHWAY In 2022, our goal is to increase tournament opportuni es for all players aged 30 and over, with a focus on increasing par cipa on in the 30, 35, 40 and 45 age categories. We will introduce short-length events of three days or less, for example, to ensure more people aged 30-45 can take part. Whilst the ITF Seniors ranking will remain the primary measure within the tour, from May 2022 the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) is also being used as part of a player's acceptance criteria to play singles at ITF Seniors tournaments. Where players do not have an ITF Seniors ranking, the WTN will be used. We want to take tennis for players aged 30 years and over to new des na ons across the world, to further showcase the diversity of the game. As such, we're introducing more flexibility to the bidding process for hos ng the ITF World Championships from 2023 onwards. Those applying will now be able to host a minimum of two age groups (previously three age groups), ensuring more na ons, who previously may not have had the number of courts required, are able to stage these popular events. 2021 ITF Annual Review 33
