Sweden's Leo Borg began the year by claiming the biggest junior title of his career at J1 Porto Alegre in front of his watching father, Bjorn. The 18 -year-old also posted his first match-win on the ITF World Tennis Tour at M15 Antalya in May. Robin Montgomery of the United States, meanwhile, etched her name into junior tennis history after being crowned girls' champion at the US Open Junior Tennis Championships in September – a memorable victory at her home Grand Slam.
