tennis or other sports, and witnessing their approach to top-level competition. "The most memorable thing was staying in the Olympic Village," added Bencic. "It was so amazing to see everyone else and all the athletes. We met so many different athletes from so many different countries. "It was very, very impressive to go to the gym and see what the other athletes are like in training, what they are eating, how they are planning their day, what their schedule looks like and how they prepare on days before their most important competition. "I never felt alone. Everyone has their big day when the pressure is on, but everyone is so happy to be there. For me, it was all about the other athletes, as normally you are not surrounded by the other sports – that was so interesting." With her Tokyo 2020 experience proving beneficial in more ways than one, perhaps one of the most pressing and unanswered questions surrounds where Bencic intends to house her Olympic medals. After all, it is a problem she was not expecting to have. "I definitely want to find a nice spot at home to keep them," she added. "I want to be able to look at them any time I want and remember all the memories from that amazing week."
