24 • ITF Global Tennis Report 2021 TOTAL NUMBER OF PLAYERS RANKED The number of players with a junior or professional ranking in 2019, having competed in at least one match during the period 1 January to 31 December. Juniors • A total of 7,275 players held an ITF Junior World Tennis Tour ranking in 2019 (3,572 male and 3,703 female) from 148 na ons. • In 2019, 75% of junior ranked players were from 37 na ons. • Europe had more players with an ITF Junior World Tennis Tour ranking than any other region – 46.0%. See Fig 18 and 19 Professionals • A total of 3,619 players held an ATP or WTA ranking in 2019 (2,137 male and 1,482 female) from 113 na ons. • In 2019, 75% of professional ranked players were from 24 na ons. • 58.8% of players with a professional ranking were from Europe.
