246 • ITF Global Report 2021 ITF Development Strategy and Development Eligibility The 2021-2024 ITF Development Strategy aims to create a world where ITF Development programmes contribute to the consistent global growth and quality of tennis, with a mission to 'increase the number and standard of players worldwide'. All of our development ac vi es support two objec ves within the strategy: 1. Increasepar cipa onintennisworldwide for all ages, genders, playing standards and physical abili es. 2. Developtalentedplayers, par cularly those from na ons that are both under-resourced and under-represented. Achieving these two objec ves will significantly contribute to our goal of increasing the total player popula on to 120 million by 2030 as part of our ITF2024 strategy. All development ac vi es sit within one of six areas: performance; par cipa on; events; facili es; educa on; administra on and resources. The ITF works with its member Na onal Associa ons to support their respec ve na onal development pathways. Throughout the ITF Global Tennis Report 2021, reference is made to the ITF Na onal Associa on Development Eligibility Criteria or 'Development Eligibility'. The Development Eligibility for 2021 is used for this report. Development Eligibility for 2021 was approved by the ITF Board of Directors in November 2020. Each ITF member Na onal Associa on is assessed for its eligibility to benefit from components of the ITF Development Programme, and support is allocated on a project-by-project basis.
