Fed Cup continues to attract strong crowds, with all 13,000 tickets for the 2012 final selling out within six hours Player participation numbers saw an increase for a fourth consecutive year, with 334 players from 85 nations taking part in the World Group, World Group II and three regional zones. Fed Cup was shown by 49 dedicated broadcasters in 149 countries, with the Final attracting 30 broadcasters in 129 countries. The audience share in Serbia for the Final peaked at 35 per cent showing the popularity of the event in the territory. In total over 1,700 hours of coverage were shown globally throughout the year. Five players received Fed Cup Heart Awards in 2012 as Sofia Arvidsson, Catalina Castano, Daniela Hantuchova, Jelena Jankovic and Li Na were rewarded for showing exceptional courage on court and demonstrating outstanding commitment to the team. It was a second Heart Award for Jankovic, who also received one in 2010. At the Final, Jana Novotna received the Fed Cup Award of Excellence from the ITF and The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum. The competition continued to receive strong support from its title sponsor BNP Paribas, international sponsors Adecco and Bosco and international partner Wilson, who announced their renewal through 2017 during the year. Off the court, Fed Cup continues to attract strong crowds, with all 13,000 tickets for the 2012 Final selling out within six hours.
