KOHLSCHREIBER HONOURED WITH DAVIS CUP COMMITMENT AWARD ITF World Spring 2020 37 Interactive online courses have recently been added to the platform for the first time, with 18 courses currently available in English and a further six in Spanish and six in French. The courses cover a variety of subjects, from an 'Introduction to Strategy & Tactics' to 'Ethics in Coaching'. Having played Davis Cup in all but one calendar year since his debut, Kohlschreiber has an extensive back catalogue of memories from the competition, although to recall one of his fondest would mean returning to the very start. "The passion to represent my country still burns brightly," said Kohlschreiber. "Davis Cup and playing for my country is Germany stalwart Philipp Kohlschreiber followed in some illustrious footsteps by becoming the latest recipient of the Davis Cup Commitment Award in March. Kohlschreiber is a 13-year Davis Cup veteran, having first represented Germany in 2007 in a World Group quarter- final clash against Belgium in Ostend. He has contested 23 ties in total and has returned a 20-14 win-loss record in singles matches and a 24-17 record overall. The 36-year-old was presented with the award by German Tennis Federation President and ITF Board member Ulrich Klaus during The ITF awarded Gold Level status to the French Tennis Federation's National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Paris, the first NTC to receive the programme's top accolade, in February. ITF President David Haggerty joined FFT President Bernard Giudicelli to present French NTC first to receive ITF's Gold-Level recognition the award and unveil the Gold Level plaque at the entrance to the French NTC, which will bear the hallmark for the next four years. "This recognition is not merely about the bricks and mortar that constitute a facility entitled a National Training Centre – it is more," Haggerty said during the award ceremony. "It is about creating the systems and programmes that enable a nation to focus on producing coaches, players and leaders. "I am very pleased to say that the French Tennis Federation has shown the way for all nations, shown what can be achieved, shown how continually striving for excellence reaps rewards by being the first nation to be awarded the Gold Recognition Level."
