42 ITFWorld // AUTUMN 2019 LOOKING ahead OCTOBER ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships MIAMI, USA 20-26 October This tournament is the highest-ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35+, 40+ and 45+. France were the biggest winners at the 2018 edition as they secured the Young Cup, Margaret Court Cup and Dubler Cup. Germany, Italy and Spain lifted one trophy apiece. ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals CHENGDU, CHINA 21-27 October After four editions of the ITF Junior Masters, the ITF decided that the 2019 edition of the competition would be rebranded as part of the wider exercise that has seen the ITF Junior Circuit renamed the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors. As in previous years, the top seven boys and girls in the Road to Chengdu standings plus one Chinese wild card – provided they have finished in the Top 25 – qualify automatically and will compete in round-robin groups at the Sichuan International Tennis Centre. Given ranking points at a level between Grade A and Grand Slams are on offer, the Finals could well play a crucial role in determining the year-end junior world No.1s and the ITF Junior World Champions. ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference BANGKOK, THAILAND 25-27 October A showpiece of the ITF's Coach and Education Programme, the ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference by BNP Paribas regularly attracts more than 650 coaches and experts from over C A L E N D A R Follow the action at www.itftennis.com InternationalTennisFederation @ITF_Tennis 42 ITFWorld // AUTUMN 2019 90 countries around the world. This year's event will be the 21st edition of the conference and will once again focus on high-level player development and feature presentations and the most up-to-date sport science and medical information, coach education and practical on-court coaching presentations. ITF Young Seniors World Individual Championships MIAMI, USA 26 October-2 November The highest-ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35, 40 and 45, the competition offers singles, doubles and mixed doubles events as well as a consolation draw for first round losers in the singles draw. ITF Seniors ranking points are available in all events. At last year's event, Marcus Hilpert of the Netherlands won a singles, doubles and mixed doubles title in the S45 category. NOVEMBER Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final PERTH, AUSTRALIA 9-10 November Seven-time champions Australia face France, beaten finalists in 2016, at the RAC Arena in Perth as they bid for their first Fed Cup title since 1974. For France, this will be their sixth appearance in the final, having last won the competition in 2003 when they ended a six-year wait for Fed Cup success by defeating USA 4-1 at the Olympic Stadium, Moscow. Australia have won five of their previous six Fed Cup meetings with France. Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals MADRID, SPAIN 18-24 November The new-look week-long extravaganza will see 18 teams – France, Croatia, Argentina, Belgium, Great Britain, USA, Serbia, Japan, Spain, Russia, Germany, Chile, Australia, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Italy and Canada – do battle for the Davis Cup title. The 18 nations have been divided into six groups, with the winners of those groups and the two best second-placed teams progressing to the quarter-finals. UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters ORLANDO, USA 19-26 November The UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters is the most prestigious doubles event on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, carrying ITF Masters Series status and offering a rich pool of ranking points with the potential to determine the year-end world No. 1 doubles players in the men's, women's and quad rankings. The top eight men's pairings, top six women's pairings and top four quad pairings are accepted into the draw, which follows a round-robin format. NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters ORLANDO, USA 19-26 November The NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters invites the top eight men and women along with the top six quads for the official ITF year-end wheelchair singles championship. The round-robin format, which mirrors the ATP World Tour Finals and WTA Finals, guarantees a player must face at least four of the top eight players in the world to gain the title. OCTOBER NOVEMBER
