TOTAL NUMBER OF TENNIS CLUBS
The number of tennis clubs, comprising both
'affiliated' and 'non-affiliated' clubs. Affiliated
clubs are tennis facili es and/or clubs that have
a formal registra on with their Na onal Associa on.
Non-Affiliated clubs are tennis facili es and/or
clubs which do not.
• There are 71,263 tennis clubs in 137 na ons
globally, with 32 na ons contribu ng over
95% of these tennis clubs.
• More than 85% of tennis clubs are located in
3 regions: Europe, Asia and North America.

TO WORLD POPULATION
Using each na on's tennis club numbers, we
calculated the total number of tennis clubs rela ve
to a na on's popula on (using United Na ons
popula on data from 2017). Results are shown
per 1,000 popula on.
• For every tennis club globally, there are 41,006
people or 771 tennis players.
• The Oceania region has the highest propor on
of tennis clubs rela ve to its popula on (0.1 clubs
per 1,000 popula on, or 11,016 people per
tennis club).
